The National Anti-Terrorism Committee announced on Thursday (Apr. 11) that two suspected terrorists had been killed in a counterterrorism operation in Nalchik, the capital city of Russia’s North Caucasus region of Kabardino-Balkaria
The committee said , the suspects opened fire on Federal Security Service (FSB) special personnel after being blockaded on the outskirts of Nalchik.

According to a statement, the people were members of a gang that belonged to a global terrorist group.
However, the statement made no mention of any organisations.
The two suspects, according to Russia’s Anti-Terrorism Committee, were allegedly planning a series of terrorist and subversive acts around the area.
At the scene of the gunfight, automatic weapons and ammo were discovered, according to Russian news outlet Tass.
It takes place in the midst of increased security worries following the gunman’s March 22 attack on a Moscow concert theatre, which left 145 people dead.
An Islamic State group operative claimed credit for the assault.
Four alleged perpetrators among the eleven people who have been arrested.
The Investigative Committee claimed to have proof of the assailants’ affiliation with nationalists from Ukraine
