28 People are stilll missing from the killer floods in Mai Mahiu, Nakuru County that has so far claimed lives of 71 residents.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the Ministry of Interior stated that 53 individuals were still unaccounted for and that 46 people had died from the tragedy.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, however, stated that as of Tuesday morning, 71 deaths had been officially declared, leaving 28 persons missing.

According to Kithure Kindiki’s ministry, Nairobi, Tana River, West Pokot, and Homa Bay are the counties that have suffered from flooding in the past 24 hours.
Residents of Muranga and Nakuru counties have also been impacted by mudslides and landslides.
As of right now, the floods have claimed 169 lives and injured 102 more in the impacted areas.
At least 30,099 households have been displaced, affecting approximately 150,495 people.
In Sindo, Homa Bay County, 161 households were displaced by the flash floods after following a heavy downpour in the area.
Overall, 190,942 individuals have been affected by the flooding in the country.
“We are actively carrying out search, rescue, and retrieval operations particularly in Nakuru due to the recent mudslide and have rescued 23 people in Garissa,” the Interior Ministry said.
