The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced the reopening of the Nakuru-Eldoret (A8) highway following successful repairs at Timboroa.
The road was closed on May 2 due to severe flood damage that compromised the structural integrity of a section of the roadway, posing a risk of collapse.
The repairs were completed on schedule, allowing the highway to reopen and resume normal traffic flow.

In a statement, KeNHA Director General Kung’u Ndung’u expressed gratitude to the public for their patience during the closure and reiterated the authority’s commitment to ensuring safe and reliable road networks.
“The Kenya National Highways Authority is pleased to inform the public that the Nakuru-Eldoret (A8) highway is now open to traffic. This follows the completion of remedial works at Timboroa,” the statement by Ndung’u read.
“We extend our sincere appreciation for your patience and understanding during the closure period. The Authority remains committed to ensuring seamless connectivity for the safe passage of goods and services, promoting economic prosperity. At KeNHA, your safety is our utmost priority,” the statement concluded.
