Lamu Deputy Governor Raphael Munyua is dead.
President William Ruto mourned him as a progressive leader who worked tirelessly for Lamu residents.
The Head of State condoled with the family and friends of the late deputy governor as he prayed that God grants them strength during this difficult time.
“I’m saddened by the news of the passing away of the Deputy Governor of Lamu County Raphael Munyua Ndung’u. He was a progressive leader who worked tirelessly for the greater good of the people of Lamu,” Ruto said in a statement on X.
“Our love and prayers to the family, friends and the people of Lamu County at this sad moment. Rest in peace.”
Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro also condoled with Lamu residents following the passing on of the deputy governor.
The legislator said Ndung’u had been unwell for some time.
“Our sincere condolences to the great people of Lamu county following the passing on of the Lamu County Deputy Governor, Hon Raphael Munyua Ndung’u, who has not been feeling well for some time. Our thoughts are with the family,” he said in a statement on X.
