President William Ruto has donated Ksh.2 million to Endarasha Hillside Academy in Nyeri to help them purchase items that were lost during a fire that burnt 21 learners to death.
Speaking during a church service in Nyeri on Sunday, Ruto said that he will facilitate the burials of all the victims who were affected by the fire.
He has tasked Kieni Member of Parliament Njoroge Wainaina with ensuring that all the victims have received aid as investigations continue.

“I will send you again there with Ksh.2 million you buy items for those whose items were burnt so that our children go back to school,” he said.
Ruto further noted that he will approach the institution’s director David Kinyua after investigations into the deadly incident is complete to help the school back on its feet.
“I will look for Kinyua, after investigations are complete, we see how we can help that school so that we create space for our children to learn,” he said.
Parents of students whose whereabouts remain unknown have remained in distress despite a declaration by the government that all the missing students have been accounted for.
Twenty-one boys have been confirmed dead as two of them died while receiving treatment in the hospital, while bodies of 19 others were recovered from the charred dormitory.
