Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has claimed that Members of Parliament were offered KSh 5 million in bribes to impeach him

He alleged that his opponents approached MPs and urged them to back the impeachment motion against him.

Gachagua stated that his adversaries are willing to do whatever it takes, including bribing MPs, to remove him from office.

Speaking to a crowd in Mwea, Kirinyaga County, the Deputy President claimed that Kirinyaga Senator James Murango was offered KSh 5 million in bribe but refused it.

The Deputy president also claimed that Kirinyaga Woman Representative Njeri Maina was approached to support his impeachment motion but refused.
