The Lebanon evacuation multi-agency team, led by Ms. Margaret Wamoto, the Director of Administration at the State Department for Diaspora Affairs, successfully saw off a group of 55 Kenyans at the Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut yesterday.
This marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of Kenyans in the Diaspora amidst the escalating crisis in Lebanon.
Some of the evacuees have been in Lebanon for close to four years, and as they awaited their flight back to Nairobi, they shared their diverse experiences of life in Lebanon.
The Government of Kenya, through collaboration with state and non-state actors, remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting the rights and welfare of its citizens abroad.
This includes not only facilitating evacuations but also providing necessary support to those in need.
