A multi-agency team engaged in the evacuation of Kenyans from Lebanon led by Ms. Margaret Wamoto, Director of Administration at State Department for Diaspora Affairs | Kenya and Mr. Sayed Chalouhi, Kenya’s Honorary Consul in Lebanon visited the office of Caritas Shelter in Lebanon.
The shelter, run by Caritas Internationalis – one of the largest humanitarian networks in the world, houses Kenyans in distress especially in the ongoing conflict in the country.
The team held a meeting with the President of the Shelter, Reverend Father Michael Abbound and Ms. Hessen Sayyah, Head of Protection Department.
The agenda of the meeting included the welfare of Kenyans under the shelters and how collaborate in championing the protection of rights and welfare of Kenyans in distress.
Ms. Wamoto, on behalf of the State Department and the Government of Kenya, thanked Caritas International for being a key partner in ensuring the safety of Kenyans during this regional crisis.
Mr. Ibrahim Rashid, Immigration Attache at the Kenyan Embassy in Kuwait accompanied the Director and the Honorary Consul.
