Kenyan President William Ruto, awarded the Companion of the Order of the Star of the Volta by Ghana, the highest distinction bestowed by the nation.
President Ruto was given the honour on Wednesday night at a State banquet.

President Nana Akufo-Addo described President Ruto as a “example of a new generation of African leaders” who have made the decision to insist on the application of due process and accountability principles to all citizens, regardless of their social status.”
He emphasised that President Ruto had taken this action despite the nuanced and delicate political ramifications.
“Under your leadership,” President Akufo-Addo said, “Kenya has become a shining example of a nation governed by the rule of law.”
He claimed that Kenya has reclaimed its pride on the global scene under President Ruto’s leadership.
President Akufo-Addo mentioned the number of Kenyans expected to have access to housing and health insurance, as well as the decline in prices and increase in start-ups.
